About Me - Olivia C. Dunlap
Olivia here. I'm currently a student in English and Computer Science with a game design emphasis at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
I've played games with a passion since I could walk, and that passion has stuck with me adamantly enough to lead me to pursue a career in games. I'm from a rural area with a modest game design crowd, but I currently have several projects in development at any given time. I greatly enjoy both tabletop and video games, and am particularly interested in the possibilities of narrative interactivity unique to digital games.
I am working my way towards a well-rounded knowledge base of some of the major aspects of the game design process. I currently write, design, and program along with my other half, Tanner Marshall, for Bearicade Games. I am also a part-time host, providing a game designer's perspective for The Boomburst podcast, an active participant in the Little Rock Game Designer's Roundup, and member of UA Little Rock's William G. Cooper Jr. Honors Program in English.
My current projects are Beast of Balka (an abstract, 2-player board game) , a game in Unity about a dog shelter, and a hypertext interactive narrative about a girl who is coming to terms with her rural roots.
My recent inspirations include (but are by no means limited to) the Final Fantasy series, ACE Team, Telltale Games, Emily Short, and Brian Froud.
